Sara Regal (1989, Viveiro) works at the intersection of design, sustainability, and art. Her practice is grounded in material experimentation and manual processes, often working with leftover and discarded materials. Her work reflects a careful integration of discarded materials, where manual transformation becomes a way to rethink their function and value within a controlled and transparent design process. It is characterized by a distinctive sensitivity to color and a continuous search for new narratives through matter.
With a background in engineering and design, her trajectory includes postgraduate studies at ECAL and a design residency in Hong Kong. Since 2018, she has developed her own independent practice, structured around a workshop-studio based in Mallorca. This space functions as a site for research through making, where she develops projects that span object design, spatial interventions, and scenographic work.
Her work has been presented at platforms such as Salone del Mobile in Milan, New York Design Week, Paris Design Week, and 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen. Beyond the studio, her practice occasionally extends into cultural and academic contexts, through talks, workshops, and other formats that open space for dialogue and shared reflection.
